CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL AND PREVENTION
Since it was founded in 1946 to help control malaria, CDC has remained at the forefront of public health efforts to prevent and control
infectious and chronic diseases, injuries, workplace hazards, disabilities, and environmental health threats.

FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
Through the Florida Department of Children and Families, one can apply for Food Stamps, Temporary Cash Assistance, and
Medicaid.  One can also check on Case Status, Benefit Information, apply for the Medicare Prescription Drug Program, and more.

FRIENDS-TOGETHER, INC.
As a community-based organization, Friends-Together, Inc. serves the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of people living with
and affected by HIV.  They also serve the needs of disenfranchised youth through life skills training and mentoring.

SOCIAL SECURITY
The Social Security Administration  pays retirement, disability, and survivors benefits to workers and their families, as well as
administering the Supplemental Security Income program.  They also issue Social Security numbers.

HEARTSONG SOUTHEAST
Providing spiritual opportunities to those living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.  Heartsong offers annual retreats to those with HIV, their
loved ones, and caregivers.  Heartsong is also an OASIS-sponsored event.

THE GEARS CENTER
An organization designed to empower gay and bisexual males aged 18 to 29,  and addresses the social and emotional needs and
issues pertinent to these persons.  GEARS falls under the direction of OASIS.

UGANDA MARTYRS ORPHANS PROJECT
Caring for children and youth whose futures are at risk because of the AIDS pandemic. The Uganda Martyrs Orphans Project serves
800 young people, providing them with food, shelter, security, education, and access to medical treatment.

DINING OUT FOR LIFE
Dining Out for Life is an international event that offers licenses to AIDS Service Organizations around the country.  More than 2,500
restaurants a year donate a portion of their proceeds from this one special night of dining to the licensed agency in their city.
